You want it. We’ve got it. Social Media and What It Can Do for You. Join the Public Relations Individuals of Southern Maryland (PRISM) at a luncheon meeting to be held at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in St. Leonard, Maryland, on Thursday,February 18, 2010, at noon. This event is $15 for PRISM members and $18 for non-members. The cost includes the presentation, panel discussion, and lunch, which is being prepared by Chesapeake Cuisine.

Tracy Johnson, senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, develops outreach and communications strategies that effectively integrate social media. Her clients include the federal government, the U.S. Navy, the IRS and more. Tracy will present the nuts and bolts of Twitter and how to use it as a tool in your PR arsenal.

Panelists from the College of Southern Maryland, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, SMECO, and Historic Sotterley will talk about what they’re doing with social media and provide you with insights and lessons learned. Facebook isn’t just for kids anymore. Of SMECO’s Facebook fans, 53 percent are between 35 and 55, and 11 percent are over 55 years old. Find out how colleges use Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter to reach diverse groups of potential students, current students, and alumni.

What can you do to improve your organization’s outreach and corporate branding? We will help put you on the right track.
